Some infections need intravenous antibiotics — treatment that usually means a hospital stay. Our IV-trained nurses deliver it at home instead, under strict medical governance: careful suitability assessment, safety checks at every visit, and a doctor reviewing your progress throughout the course.
Is this right for me?
You need a course of IV antibiotics but would rather be at home
You need IV fluids or other IV treatment at home
You've been assessed as stable enough for treatment at home
You want to avoid a hospital stay for treatment that can be given safely at home
Important — this is not an emergency service
Home IV treatment is only for patients assessed as stable enough for care at home. If you become seriously unwell during treatment — severe breathlessness, chest pain, a severe reaction, collapse — call 999.

Frequently asked questions
Is home IV treatment safe?
It's only offered when a clinician has assessed you and confirmed treatment at home is clinically appropriate and you're stable enough. You're monitored throughout, with clear escalation if anything changes.
Who decides whether I'm suitable?
A clinician, following an assessment. Suitability isn't assumed — it's confirmed before treatment starts.
Who prescribes the antibiotics?
Treatment is prescribed by a doctor as part of your assessed plan.
How often will the nurse visit?
It depends on the treatment — a short visit or, for longer courses, extended or repeat visits. This is agreed in your plan.
How long does treatment last?
As long as clinically needed for your course; we explain the expected duration up front.
What happens if I get worse?
We escalate promptly — including arranging hospital care if required. If it's an emergency, call 999.
What happens with the IV line?
The nurse manages the line safely and explains how to look after it between visits.
Is medication included in the price?
Medication may be charged separately depending on the treatment — we confirm all costs before starting.
