A virtual ward means the oversight of a hospital ward — without the ward. We place simple monitoring equipment in your home, you (or your family) take readings twice a day, and our clinical team reviews every patient every day, stepping up to a home visit, home IV treatment or hospital the moment the numbers say so.
Is this right for me?
You need hospital-style monitoring but would rather be at home
You've been assessed as suitable for a virtual ward
You're recovering from an illness that needs close observation
You want doctor oversight without staying in hospital
Important — this is not an emergency service
The virtual ward is for patients assessed as suitable for monitoring at home. If you become seriously unwell between reviews — severe breathlessness, chest pain, collapse — call 999.

After your visit
You stay under clinical oversight until you're well enough to step down. If readings become abnormal, we review promptly and escalate — including hospital admission if needed. With consent, your NHS GP is kept informed.
We provide this service across Lurgan, Craigavon and surrounding areas. Some surrounding locations may be available depending on the service, travel requirements and clinician availability.
Not sure if we cover your area? Call 028 9621 1981 with your postcode and our team will check — or see Areas we cover.
Booking for someone else?
Yes — a family member, carer or authorised representative can contact us to arrange this for a patient, provided the patient consents. Many of our bookings are made by a son or daughter for a parent.
