Home visitGP and clinician visits
A GP home visit is a private doctor appointment in your own house. Friends Medical GP offers GP home visits from £255 across Lurgan, Craigavon, Portadown and surrounding areas, plus online GP appointments from £55.

This is not an emergency service. If someone has chest pain, stroke signs, severe breathing difficulty, heavy bleeding or collapse, call 999 or go to A&E. We work alongside the NHS, not instead of it.
A GP home visit is a private doctor appointment in your own house, for when getting to the Lurgan clinic is the problem. We send a GMC-registered doctor, from £255, across Lurgan, Craigavon, Portadown and nearby villages, with Banbridge, Lisburn, Armagh and Dungannon arranged subject to travel and availability.
The GP takes a history, examines you where appropriate, and leaves a clear next step: a prescription, a nurse visit, home tests, a letter, or honest advice to wait and watch. If you are sicker than expected, we escalate.
If a doctor is not what the job needs, we say so. An online GP from £55 suits advice and prescriptions, an advanced nurse practitioner can do many planned assessments, and urgent home care covers same-day visits that are still not 999.

How we arrange care
1. Tell us who this is for
Call, request a call back, or use Find the right care. A family member can arrange a visit if the patient consents to be seen. We confirm the postcode before we set out.
2. The clinician comes to you
A GP, ANP or online doctor, depending on what you described. They introduce themselves, take a history, and examine you in familiar surroundings. Same-day visits depend on a clinician being free.
3. You leave with a plan
Treatment, tests, a nurse, or watchful waiting. With consent we can write to your NHS GP. Prescriptions are private, so you pay the pharmacy fee, and we tell you that before we write anything.
Who delivers your care
GMC-registered GPs from the Friends Medical team do the doctor visits and online appointments. Advanced nurse practitioners do planned assessments when a GP is not required, with GP backup if the picture changes. We will not send a carer to do a doctor’s job.
Working alongside the NHS
Keep your NHS GP. We add private capacity at home. We do not replace your NHS practice, 111, or A&E. If you already have district nursing or a Trust package, tell us so we do not duplicate or confuse the plan. Abnormal results that need urgent NHS care are not sat on.
Where we cover
Home visits cover Lurgan, Craigavon, Portadown and nearby villages, with Banbridge, Lisburn, Armagh and Dungannon arranged subject to travel and availability. Call 028 9621 1981 with a postcode and we will check. Travel beyond the towns we list is confirmed before the clinician leaves.
Pricing

Common questions
How much is a private GP home visit in Northern Ireland?
GP home visits start from £255 in the towns we cover. The exact fee depends on the time needed and how far we travel. We confirm the from-price before the doctor leaves clinic.
Is a GP home visit the same as an emergency doctor?
No. We are not 999, an ambulance, or an out-of-hours emergency GP for life-threatening symptoms. If someone has severe chest pain, stroke signs, or cannot breathe, call 999.
Can you issue a prescription at a home visit?
Yes, when it is clinically appropriate. Prescriptions are private, so you pay the pharmacy fee. Some medicines cannot be started safely without tests or an NHS prescriber. We will say so.
Do I still need my NHS GP?
Yes. Friends Medical GP works alongside the NHS. Keep your NHS GP for routine NHS care, screening and emergency pathways. We share letters when you ask us to.
When is an online GP enough?
An online GP from £55 suits advice, many prescriptions, results and follow-up. It is not enough when a physical examination is required, and it is never the right place for emergency symptoms.
